Week In Review

This past week has been so fun and unplanned.
On Tuesday Gary and I had our three year dating anniversary. We went to Whole Foods to celebrate. I know, classy isn't it? We had never been to a Whole Foods until a few weeks ago when we discovered it and were amazed. Below are a few pictures of Tuesday:

On Thursday, Gary and I went to a Parachute concert and were front row! It was so exciting because we have seen them before about a year ago and we were dying to see them again, but they've been touring with Andy Grammer (who we've also met and seen) at sold out concerts so, this was so fun! Below are a few pictures of Thursday:

On Friday, Gary and I went home after I worked and we had dinner at my house, and then early Saturday morning around 7a.m., we trekked to Georgia with Gary's dad to get Gary his new car. We arrived at the Volkswagen dealership around 12 p.m. Alabama time. We then proceeded through all the steps of buying and financing a car (by we I mean Gary and his dad-I just sat there and watched :)) and finished around 3 p.m. and then drove to Wendy's for a quick lunch. After we had been on the road for an hour and a half, I decided I needed to change my clothes. So, we made a quick stop, got back on the road and made it to Chuy's just in time to get a seat for 7. We had to wait over an hour and then we celebrated my roommate Hannah's birthday! Below are a few pictures from Saturday:

To say the least, this past week was a blast. I absolutely love being busy and spending my time with sweet friends and family. This upcoming week is my last three days of my freshman year in college! I am beyond excited to be done with my first year as a college student. This final week of classes means I have a paper, project, and one exam. Next week I have two finals and then I move out Friday the 10th! I'll keep you posted!
I hope everyone has a great week!

Beauty Products: Reviewed

Beauty Products

Over the past few years, I have used multiple kinds of makeup. Now that I have somewhat become an adult, I ditched the beginner makeup and I started using the "real" stuff. I am also very wary when it comes to trying new products, so I wanted to show you all some of what I use and what I love!

1. Neutrogena moisture SPF 15: I received a little travel size bottle of this a few weeks ago in some face wipes. This stuff is good. I put it on my face and neck after I take a shower and my pores are open. It really softens my face and it doesn't get as oily. I will definitely buy more when mine runs out.

2. Chi Silk Infusion: I got a little bottle of this for Christmas because I use thermal tools all the time. I put a little dab in my hand and rub it in between my fingers and then run my fingers through my hair before I use a straightener, curling iron, etc. This protects your hair from getting damaged from the heat of thermal tools. It makes my hair really soft and it smells really good, too!

3. Tresemme Freshstart Dry Shampoo: I used to wash my hair every other day. I absolutely love washing my hair, but as I started getting older and I started curling and straightening my hair I realized I was doing more damage than good. Nowadays, I don't wash my hair for at least 3 days. In the morning of the second day, I hold the bottle 8 inches away from my hair and spray and then let it sit for a minute or two and then rub it in. It soaks up all the oil your hair might have!

4. Jergens Natural Glow: If you need an easy tan this product is for you! I have such fair skin so I researched tanning lotions every day for two weeks trying to find the best reviewed and I came upon Jergens Natural Glow. I was fighting the urge to get a spray tan because I was so pasty after this past winter so, I picked this up at Target for $9 and after three days, I had a natural glow! The only thing about this is that you have to put it on evenly. Also, Jergens had a bad rep because apparently it used to smell really bad, but they have changed it and it smells good!

5. Olay lotion: I absolutely love this lotion! I use it on my face especially in the winter. I apply it around my mouth, cheeks, and forehead only going in one direction. It doesn't make me break out and it makes my face really soft!

6. Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Top Multi-Purpose Brush No. 04: I just bought this brush for $14 at Target. I am in love with this brush! It makes applying liquid foundation so easy. To see how to apply foundation the right way with a brush like this see this post from The Beauty Department. I will keep this as long as I can!

7. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer: This product is really neat. It's like a paint brush and you twist the bottom and it pushes concealer to the top where the brush is. This brush makes it really easy to apply concealer under the eye and around the nose or little blemishes!

8. Bare Minerals Foundation: Although Bare Minerals is awfully expensive, I think it's worth it. It lasts me quite a few months and it gives me a nice glow without looking cake-y. I mostly use this in the summer when I'm darker and have more color.

I hope my reviews helped you out!

Weekend Roundup/Summer Business Attire

I've been trying to escape all the stress from school due to the fact that I have less than 4 weeks of my Freshman year left so, I went home this past weekend. I arrived home Friday afternoon and while my sister was babysitting, my parents and I ate Steak Out (which I hadn't had in years). It was so good! Steak, salad, a baked potato, and a roll. Yum! After my sister got home, we watched Revenge until 1 a.m. If you knew my parents, you would know that they never stay up past 10 :) so, this was a great accomplishment and a fun night! On Saturday, my sister and I went shopping and then all three of us went to get pedicures. Saturday, we grilled and had friends over. Sunday, we went to church and out to lunch and then I made my trek back to Birmingham.
This upcoming week is going to be one of the busiest weeks of my college career thus far. So, I am going to leave you all with a little summer inspired business outfit.

Water.

So, I don't drink water that much. I was completely addicted to caffeine and sweet tea for a year (Yes, these are my confessions). Anyways.. I got headaches if I didn't have caffeine at a certain time of day and let me tell you, it's not fun. So, I decided to give up soda for a while this past semester. It went really well. When I gave up soda, my body felt better. I didn't get headaches anymore and I wasn't dependent on a drink to make me feel good. After saying all this, I have decided to drink only water starting today for a week. You're probably like "a week?? really? that's like only 7 days..." Yeah, well, I try to keep my goals reachable. After a week, I'll lengthen it, but for now, between today and next Monday, only water.

The Perfect Hair Tie

Being a girl, I'm always on the lookout for cute hair accessories. So, when the "Emi Jay" hair ties came out, I was all over them. I bought one pack of 2 for an outrageous price, like every other girl on the planet. However, I think this is absolutely ridiculous that I did this. In my opinion, females should have the ability to find cute accessories for cheap. After saying that, I made my own "Emi Jay" hair ties (called Elastic No Tug Hair Ties) to sell for cheap! Below are the details:

This is my first time selling these so, I have one set of each of the following sets (1-15). This means that whoever contacts me first will be able to purchase it. If I get good feedback, I will order some more supplies, list all the colors available, and you will be able to pick 4 colors of your choice. But for now, I have grouped 15 sets of 4.
Pricing: I am selling a set of 4 hair ties for $4.00 and shipping is $1.75.
Contact: You can visit my "Contact" page to find my email. Just shoot me an email with the following information: 1) The email's subject as "elastic hair ties" and 2) The set you would like to buy. After you send me an email, we will go from there!
